Adani Foundation Organizes Mega Blood Donation Drive to mark Chairman Mr Gautam Adani’s birthday

A total of 24, 500 units collected; 358 employees donated blood for fifth consecutive year

 

Ahmedabad, June 25, 2024 - The Adani Foundation, the community engagement arm of the Adani Group, organized a mega blood donation drive across India to mark the 62nd birthday of the Group’s chairman Shri Gautam Adani on June 24. The drive was conducted in 152 cities across 21 states of the country.

 

Organized under the guidance of the Adani Healthcare team, the drive received an overwhelming response from employees. As many as 24, 500 units (approximately 9,800 litres) of life-saving blood was collected. It carries the potential to help more than 73,500 people to recover from critical illnesses by way of use of different blood components such as Whole Blood, PCV, Platelet Concentrates, Plasma, FFP, Cryoprecipitate, Albumin etc. The units collected also surpassed last year’s record of 20,621.

  

Expressing her gratitude, Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation , said, “I want to thank every member of our Adani Parivaar for their generous contribution in this noble cause. Their dedication, year after year, not only demonstrates their compassion but also reinforces our collective commitment to serve those in need."

  

The drive was organized in partnership with Red Cross blood banks and government hospital blood banks. A team of more than 2,000 doctors, paramedics, data operators and members of the management and administration departments played a key role in this drive to make it a big success.

  

Since 2011, the Adani Foundation has been organizing a blood donation drive every year to commemorate the birthday of Mr Gautam Adani. Through such initiatives, the Foundation remains committed to addressing critical challenges and bringing about sustainable and holistic development of communities.
